New
Product Introduction:
|
|
New products are reviewed through our New Product Committee.
Representatives from
engineering, production and
sales meet to discuss the customers
needs, the application of
the part, and the production
steps needed to achieve
a successful result.
|
|
Preproduction
Planning:
|
|
Before your job
goes to the production floor, an
information packet is assembled
which follows your job through
the plant. A production packet
consists of:
-
copy of the
order
-
bar coded process sheet
with detail of manufacturing
steps
-
set-up sheet
with specifications and
settings for all production
equipment
-
quality inspection sheet
with critical tolerances and
dimensions
-
shop drawings
updated with
any engineering change orders (ECOs)
|
|
Prototypes:
|
|
In some
instances, a preproduction
prototype is required. It
is Lexingtons policy to
charge for prototypes and to
then issue a credit for those
charges on the first production
run of that part.
|
|
Shipping:
|
|
We will use your
carrier of choice. Many
times customers have discounts
set up with particular
carriers. We also
have an extensive database of
carriers, and their
coverage areas. We
will be happy to find you a
competitive rate for the delivery
of your products.
|
|
Post
Production Briefing:
|
|
When the
situation warrants, we will pull
together a team from engineering
and production to make
improvements based upon what we
learned during the production
process. These
changes are then routed through
engineering and implemented
on your next production run.
Any
changes that affect the look,
design, or function of the
product will be approved by the
customer.
